For any of you that don’t already know, my recent post, “To Lori Anne”, was Freshly Pressed.
I have no idea how it was chosen or who decided to give me this distinction. My first clue was when a comment popped up, congratulating me.
In spite of all my claims that I don’t really care about such stuff, it was an exhilarating experience. The post got more hits and likes than anything else I’ve put out, and quite a few nice comments. I was just thrilled that some people enjoyed something I wrote.
But I don’t think it’s the best I’ve done.
My favorite is, and will always be, “Sunshine’s Pop-top”.  I’d tell you why, but you don’t have the time.
She’s Sunshine
To describe her smile
Would take a while
And you don’t have the time
But her glowin’ face
And her warm embrace
All I can say is…
She’s Sunshine
Well, there you have one fool’s opinion.
I have to give my sincere thanks to the people of WordPress for the honor, though. Whoever you are. To be picked out of all the blogs and pointed at (as something worth reading) is a treasure I will always value.
Another good memory to carry in the medicine bag.
Right now, it’s time for some coffee.
congratulations now you have to go visit all the people who liked your post lol see you in a few weeks hehehehe but seriously well done 😀

Congrats regarding your previous accolade! I have found that it can be so difficult to judge your finest work, we have only been posting for two months at inspirezblog and at times I will write something I feel will do well that might not get any recognition and vice versa I may produce something I am not fully pleased with that will get an unexpected positive reaction. Keep on producing great stuff and I’m sure it won’t be long before you’re freshly pressed again

I only saw that you were FP’d now! Congratulations, Tim; you deserve it. 😀 And the Sunshine one is just too sweet. Your wife’s lucky – I bet you’ve written many stuff like that in her honour. 🙂

Oh. Esteemed.
I was thinking it was a-steamed.
Freshly pressed? Steamed? Steam iron? 😉 Never mind. No telling what goes on inside my head.
Thanks, Britt. It’s all been pretty strange.

Love ‘She’s Sunshine’.
I’ve noticed a few bloggers exhibit surprise at being freshly pressed and the fact that the one that got chosen wouldn’t necessarily be the one they thought would get chosen.

My wife was oohing and congratulating me on the FP thing. I started smiling and shaking my head.
She goes “What? What’s so funny about it?”
I said, “I’m just some guy.”
I really am, you know. I’m just some guy.

Glad you’re recovering! I have to laugh a little. You were Freshly Pressed for something really beautiful – a piece you wrote from your heart. My FP was “empty stairway” nonsense. I tried to fly under the radar with it, but I did put my FP badge on my home page – *after* my dog and my books. 🙂 … The piece of jewelry for Chris is beautiful, and I loved the story behind it. Thanks for pointing it out; I hadn’t seen it before.

The point being … you wondered why that post would be Freshly Pressed. It was lovely and should have been!! 😉

Thanks a heap. You know how much I value your opinion. Well, maybe you don’t.
I listen to what you say, Maddie. Then I get a cup a coffee and think about it. Then I think about it some more. Then I get another cup, smoke a cigarette, and try to soak it up. THEN… I answer.

You are the best, Tim. I stopped taking myself too seriously a while back, so don’t think too hard on what I say. If I can drive you to another cup of coffee though, I’m good with that. 🙂

The empty stairway was VERY well written, in YOUR voice, which gets stronger and stronger. It’s been a pleasure reading your work. I really liked your piece on your husband. Made me want to smoke a cigar. 😉
I didn’t even know there was a FP badge. I’ll have to look that up.

The FP badge may have been mentioned in the notification email WP sent to you. It will be in your widget section. Thanks for the kind words. 😉

Tim, I know where your email is. You have a hotmail email account attached to WordPress. Do you ever check it? I sent an email to you last September, and sweated for days thinking you would no longer want to be my friend after you read it. Time passed. We’re good. Now you might find that email!! 😉

They didn’t send you an email? I got one a day or two before being Freshly Pressed. And, as Maddie said, a Freshly Pressed widget magically showed up on my appearance dashboard, or what ever it is called.
Enjoy the hangover! I’ll sent you the hair of the dog to help you recover.

No email that I saw. Nothing on my widget wadget thingy. Maybe it was a mistake or a glitch in the system. I’ll take it. It was fun. 🙂
